While our Volunteer Services team sorts through the nominations flying in for outstanding volunteers, we want to share a little about the inspiring individuals who are making a difference every day!

This nomination is for a volunteer from Kairos Prison Ministry, a Christian ministry that addresses the spiritual needs of incarcerated men, women, youth, and their families AND this individual leads religious services at multiple NDCS facilities. The nominator shares that this volunteer’s work has inspired many to live with faith, hope and love.

Shout out to two outstanding teammates at the Community Corrections Center-Lincoln (CCC-L)!

Lieutenant (Lt.) Zachary Mentzer was recently commended for his excellent skills in communicating with the CCC-L population. He takes the time to intentionally listen, allows others to express concerns and comes to a respectful resolution.

Sergeant (Sgt.) Michael Rumbaugh was named the CCC-L Team Member of the Week for his willingness to go above and beyond to help the team. Teammates describe him as positive and professional at all times, and he is well respected throughout the facility.
