April 17, 2021 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Authorities have been notified about an inmate missing from the Community Corrections Center – Lincoln (CCC-L). John Mays #212428 did not return to the facility this morning following his shift at work. Staff members went to his place of employment and retrieved the electronic monitoring device he was wearing, which had been removed.

April 16, 2021 (Lincoln, Neb.) – An inmate who went missing from the Community Corrections Center – Lincoln (CCC-L) on April 15, 2021 was located today by officers with the Lincoln Police Department. Officers responded to a call from a citizen and found Dawnisha Leroy #392245 just after 2:00 p.m. She was returned to the custody of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS). April 15, 2021 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Authorities have been notified about an inmate missing from the Community Corrections Center – Lincoln (CCC-L). Dawnisha Leroy #392245 left the facility this morning to seek employment through a job service in downtown Lincoln. The electronic monitoring device she had been wearing was recovered a short time later in an alley behind the job center.

April 11, 2021 (Lincoln, Neb.) – An inmate at the Lincoln Correctional Center (LCC) went to the hospital last night for the treatment of serious* injuries resulting from an assault by another inmate. The assault occurred before 10:00 p.m. in the cell shared by both men.

About 40 minutes prior to the assault, staff members interceded when both men became involved in a verbal dispute. Later, one inmate was seen assaulting the other and additional staff members were called...Read more

April 8, 2021 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Today, Director Scott R. Frakes announced that four staff members with the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) are positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19). Two staff members are employed at the Omaha Correctional Center (OCC) and two are employed at the Nebraska Correctional Youth Facility (NCYF). All staff members are self-isolating at home.

April 7, 2021 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Authorities have been notified about an inmate missing from the Community Corrections Center – Lincoln (CCC-L). Raymond Jimenez #211661 left the facility today to seek employment through a job service in downtown Lincoln. He did not return. The electronic monitoring device he was wearing was recovered at 7th and B Street.

April 6, 2021(Lincoln, Neb.) – An inmate who went missing from the Community Corrections Center – Lincoln (CCC-L) one month ago has been arrested by the Nebraska State Patrol. Amanda Samaroo #99723 was taken into custody on the morning of April 5, 2021 in Omaha. She failed to return to CCC-L on March 4, 2021, after going to an employment agency in downtown Lincoln.

April 5, 2021(Lincoln, Neb.) – Arthur Gales #56059, age 55, died early in the morning on April 3, 2021 at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution (TSCI). His sentence started December 9, 2003. Gales was sentenced to death on charges out of Douglas County that included two counts of first degree murder and a count of second degree murder.
