September 27, 2022 (Omaha, Neb.) – The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) continues to tout progress in hiring new team members, in particular, those who work most directly with incarcerated individuals. Since December 2021, 675 staff members have been hired, including 576 who are in protective service positions. Nearly 270 new teammates are from 39 states, outside Nebraska.

September 26, 2022 (Omaha, Neb.) – An inmate missing from the Community Corrections Center – Omaha (CCC-O) has turned himself into authorities. Today, Clifford Brown #88039 went to the Omaha Police Department. He was transported to the Douglas County Correctional Center.

Brown left the facility the evening of September 22 with Matthew Hurich. Hurich has not been located.

Brown started his sentence on February 1, 2021. He was sentenced to just over three years on a charge...Read more

September 25, 2022 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Authorities have been notified about an inmate missing from the Community Corrections Center – Lincoln (CCC-L). Krista Foley #392770 disappeared today after a preapproved visit to a church in the community.

Foley started her sentence on October 27, 2021. She was sentenced to three years on a charge out of Douglas County for possession of a weapon by a prohibited person. She has a tentative release date of August 28, 2024.

September 22, 2022 (Omaha, Neb.) – Authorities have been notified about two inmates missing from the Community Corrections Center – Omaha (CCC-O). Clifford Brown #88039 and Matthew Hurich #80082 left the facility earlier this evening. They removed the electronic monitors they were wearing, which were recovered less than a block away.

September 21, 2022 (Lincoln, Neb.) – An inmate who went missing from the Community Corrections Center – Lincoln (CCC-L) at the end of last year has been arrested in Dallas, Texas. Authorities took LaJuan Jones #86630 into custody on Tuesday, September 20. He was located at a family member’s residence.

Jones disappeared on December 13, 2021. He left the facility in the morning, failing to report to his work assignment in the community. Jones started his sentence on October 31, 2017...Read more

September 3, 2022 (Lincoln, Neb.) – An inmate who failed to return to the Community Corrections Center – Lincoln (CCC-L) from his job in the community, is back in the custody of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS). Kelcey Schrage #214693 disappeared while at work on Thursday, September 1, 2022. He returned to NDCS on his own Friday, September 2.

September 1, 2022 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Authorities have been notified about an inmate missing from the Community Corrections Center – Lincoln (CCC-L). Kelcey Schrage #214693 left his job in the community today and failed to return to the facility.

Schrage started his sentence on March 17, 2022. He was sentenced to two years on a charge of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) out of Madison County. He has a tentative release date of February 10, 2023.

August 31, 2022 (Lincoln, Neb.) – An inmate who went missing from the Community Corrections Center – Lincoln (CCC-L) last month, has been arrested. Torrien Harris #392828 was taken into custody by the Grand Island Police Department on Tuesday, August 30, 2022. She failed to return to CCC-L on July 18, 2022 from her job assignment in the community.

Harris started her sentence on February 17, 2022. She was sentenced to a year and two months to two years and five months on charges...Read more
