January 6, 2025 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Lee Dunbar #87302, age 73, died today at the Reception and Treatment Center.

Dunbar’s sentence began on March 9, 2018. He was serving a 15-to-16-year sentence out of Douglas County for multiple counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child.

While the cause of death has not yet been determined, Dunbar was being treated for a medical condition. As is the case whenever an inmate dies in the custody of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS), a grand jury will conduct an investigation.
