Inspiring others through the work of a corrections professional is nothing short of extraordinary. Help us welcome these new NDCS teammates who have joined our mission to keep people safe. Their dedication to TRANSFORM Nebraska didn’t just begin today. For the last six weeks, they spent time together in the classroom and on-the-job training to learn NDCS policies and safe procedures at the Staff Training Academy. Tomorrow they will join the ranks of NDCS team members at their respective facilities and continue their journey. #TRANSFORMNebraska #People #PhysicalPlant #Programs #PoliciesRead more

If you have a friend or family member incarcerated at the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services, please refer to our Visitation Guide to help you prepare for your visits. #Visitation

Learning by doing, that is what on-the-job training (OJT) is designed to do for teammates who are new to NDCS. These five new teammates trained with their field training officer as well as the tool/key relief corporal on the proper way to access the gates for vehicle traffic at the Nebraska Correctional Center for Women.

Providing OJT to our teammates improves the overall safety of our physical plants by giving them hands-on experience. #People #OntheJobTraining #Safety #PhysicalPlantRead more
