“Give us a hand for we made it through a spectacular year!”

These were the words chosen for the graduation banner of this Prison Fellowship Academy (PFA) cohort, who celebrated the completion of the yearlong program at the Nebraska Correctional Center for Women (NCCW). PFA is an intensive, faith-based program that leads incarcerated men and women through a holistic life transformation process. Participants are guided by PFA staff and volunteers to lead lives of purpose and productivity during their incarceration and once they are back in the community.

Congratulations to these NDCS teammates who received their Executive Green Belts from Governor Ricketts at the Nebraska Center of Operational Excellence Summit. Our team members are our greatest asset to help keep people safe, and the new wellness suite at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution (TSCI) is dedicated to them. An area at TSCI was recently transformed into a multi-purpose space with a focus on team member wellness. Many hands were involved in bringing this vision to life. In fact, the entire staff at the facility voted on the color scheme of this space!
