January 6, 2025 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Lee Dunbar #87302, age 73, died today at the Reception and Treatment Center.

Dunbar’s sentence began on March 9, 2018. He was serving a 15-to-16-year sentence out of Douglas County for multiple counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child.

December 30, 2024 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Authorities have been notified about an inmate missing from the Community Corrections Center – Lincoln (CCC-L). Erica Gonzales #393091 left her place of employment yesterday evening, and her electronic monitor was found near 27th and Pine Lake Road in Lincoln.

The Museum of Nebraska Art (MONA) is currently undergoing a major expansion and renovation project. To commemorate this new chapter, MONA is curating a special exhibition featuring hundreds of origami cranes. In Japanese culture, the origami crane symbolizes new beginnings, positive change, and peace. It's a tangible representation of hope, healing, and harmony.

December 16, 2024 (Omaha, Neb.) – Edward Lee #34830, age 68, died Saturday, December 14, 2024, at an Omaha hospital. Lee was incarcerated at the Omaha Correctional Center (OCC).

Lee’s sentence began on January 24, 1983. He was serving a life sentence out of Douglas County for first degree murder.

December 2, 2024 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Wilma Castor #94158, age 76, died today at a Lincoln hospital. Castor was incarcerated at the Nebraska Correctional Center for Women (NCCW).

Castor’s sentence began on April 26, 2000. She was serving a life sentence out of Buffalo County for first-degree murder and other charges.
