June 12, 2024 (York, Neb.) – The first cohort of students at the Nebraska Correctional Center for Women (NCCW) have successfully completed the yearlong Persevere program, which has equipped them with coding skills to fill high-demand jobs.

June 9, 2024 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Michael Prim #31305, age 71, died June 8, 2024, at a Lincoln hospital. He was incarcerated at the Reception and Treatment Center (RTC).

Prim’s sentence began on July 8, 1977. He was serving a life sentence for first degree murder out of Douglas County.

June 6, 2024 (Lincoln, Neb.) – An inmate who went missing from the Community Corrections Center – Lincoln (CCC-L) has been arrested. Kyle Pullen #212695 was taken into custody on June 5, 2024, by the Lincoln Police Department and booked into the Lancaster County Jail.

Pullen disappeared on March 31, 2024, when he failed to return to CCC-L from his place of employment. He started his sentence on January 29, 2021. He was sentenced to five to eight years...Read more

May 27, 2024 (Omaha, Neb.) – Douglas Dowding #59207, age 59, died May 26, 2024, at a hospital in Omaha. He was incarcerated at the Community Corrections Center – Omaha (CCC-O).

Dowding’s sentence began on September 19, 2003. He was serving a 43 to 50 year sentence for kidnapping and attempted first degree sexual assault out of Douglas County and theft and possession of a controlled substance out of Sarpy County.

May 24, 2024 (Omaha, Neb.) – A staff member at the Omaha Correctional Center (OCC) sustained a serious* injury this morning, resulting from an inmate assault.

The inmate threw an object, striking the staff member in the head. The staff member was diagnosed with a concussion.

An investigation of the incident has been launched. Findings will be provided to the county attorney for determination of criminal prosecution. The NDCS disciplinary process will be utilized...Read more

His sentence began on August 22, 2014. Jennings was serving a 60 to 80 year sentence for attempted first degree sexual assault of a child out of Douglas County, two counts of first degree sexual assault out of Sarpy County, and two counts of incest out of Sarpy County.
