When Sarah Bird was looking to move back to Nebraska in 2001, the Work Ethic Camp (WEC) in McCook offered her the opportunity she was looking for to move back to the state and community she loves. Initially, Bird hired on as a corporal, but moved over to probation and then juvenile probation for a while before returning to WEC in 2014 as a caseworker. She was promoted to unit case manager later that year.
Bird enjoys working as a case manager. “I appreciate being able to balance my family and career here,” said Bird. “The benefits, paid sick and vacation leave are a huge thing to me.”
