Since its inception in 2021, approximately 120 individuals have participated in the Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) program at the Omaha Correctional Center (OCC), a partnership with Metropolitan Community College 180 Re-entry Assistance Program.

TRANSFORM Nebraska is about prioritizing the holistic development and well-being of incarcerated individuals, recognizing that successful reintegration into community requires many different resources. Tecumseh State Correctional Institution recently held a reentry fair where 15 local providers shared with the population about resources available to assist them as they transition to the community.

Reentry fairs provide an excellent opportunity for individuals in NDCS facilities to talk face-to-face with community partners and learn about resources across the state. #Reentry2030 #KeepPeopleSafe

Developing the right mindset and skills makes all the difference in building a leadership legacy that inspires and guides others. This group of NDCS leaders successfully completed the First-Level Leaders program.

In this three-day training, team members from NDCS facilities across the department evaluated their strengths and learned ways to strengthen their influence. They also took a deep dive into the NDCS values and strategic plan.
