March 14, 2022 (Lincoln, Neb.) -- Melvin Stamper #63119, age 53, died the evening of March 13, 2022 at the Nebraska State Penitentiary (NSP). His sentence began on November 18, 2005. Stamper was serving an 18- to 34-year sentence for two counts of robbery and possession of a deadly weapon by a felon. The charges originated out of Buffalo and Lincoln County.

February 24, 2022 (Omaha, Neb.) – Authorities have been notified about an inmate missing from the Community Corrections Center – Omaha (CCC-O). Kendall McNeese #210449 was being escorted by staff members after they discovered contraband inside his cell. He ran out the front door and away from the facility. Shortly afterward, he disabled the electronic monitoring device he was wearing.

McNeese started his sentence on October 21, 2019. He was sentenced to eight years to 13 years on...Read more

February 24, 2022 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Authorities have been notified about an inmate missing from the Community Corrections Center – Lincoln (CCC-L). John Nereson #211183 did not show up for his work assignment this morning. Instead, surveillance video at the facility showed him walking toward a nearby bus stop.

Nereson started his sentence on February 18, 2020. He was sentenced to eight years to 12 years on multiple charges out of Scotts Bluff County that include assault on an...Read more

February 16, 2022 (Lincoln, Neb.) – An inmate at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution (TSCI) assaulted a staff member on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, resulting in a serious* injury.

The assault occurred yesterday afternoon inside an office. The staff member was interviewing the inmate about a recent infraction, when the inmate suddenly moved toward him, and began punching him in the head and face. January 31, 2022 (Lincoln, Neb.) – An inmate missing from the Community Corrections Center – Lincoln (CCC-L) has been arrested by officers with the Omaha Police Department. Christian Crawford #88438 remains in custody at the Douglas County Correctional Center. He faces new charges, including criminal impersonation and obstructing a peace officer.

Crawford left the facility on January 4, 2022. His sentence started on October 5, 2018. He was sentenced to six to 10 years on charges...Read more

January 18, 2022 (Omaha, NE.) – Authorities have been notified about an inmate missing from the Community Corrections Center – Omaha (CCC-O). Brandon Bridgeford #74614 did not return to the facility from his place of work in the community today. The electronic monitoring device he was wearing was deactivated.

Bridgeford started his sentence on November 4, 2011. He was sentenced to 18 to 26 years on charges out of Douglas County that include two counts of theft by receiving stolen...Read more

January 16, 2022 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Richard Baney #213892, age 70, died today at a hospital in Omaha. He was incarcerated at the Community Corrections Center – Omaha (CCC-O).

Baney’s sentence started on October 1, 2021. He was sentenced to one year and nine months on charges out of Madison County that included driving under the influence (second offense) and driving under a revoked license.
