More than 90% of individuals incarcerated in Nebraska will return to our communities. During #SecondChanceMonth we’re highlighting the rehabilitative services and resources that encourage successful reentry.

The reentry team offers hope and support to all incarcerated people at the beginning of their sentence, throughout incarceration, and as they near release, so they can live successfully as members of their community. Successful community reentry leads to safer communities.

Reentry specialists are available in every facility to help people complete their reentry plans, which includes establishing housing, job searching, finding transportation, and connecting to community resources. It’s important that these services are individualized to meet the needs of the client and are aimed at creating opportunities for transformational change that will reduce the risk of returning to criminal behavior.
