OCC: Harambee Banquet
OCC: Harambee Banquet
The Harambee Afrikan Cultural Organization (HACO) promotes the idea that cultural awareness is necessary for human growth. The club recently celebrated this message during their annual Harambee Banquet at the Omaha Correctional Center. HACO explores the past, present and future of African American culture and heritage.
Harambee means "all pull together” in Swahili, and the club’s message and this banquet are a true example of that. Both club members and guests from outside organizations presented on topics that promote the Nguzo Saba or Seven Principles: unity: self-determination, collective work and responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity and faith.
Thanks to all involved in putting together this event! #BuildYourFuture
