Worship opportunities and religious programming are available to individuals at NDCS facilities throughout Nebraska, thanks to the dedication of religious coordinators, clergy and volunteers.

This month, we welcomed Matthew Kadavy to his new role as the religious coordinator at the Nebraska State Penitentiary.

“It is important to me, in my new role, to meet everyone where they are and that all religions are presented equally,” Kadavy said. 

Kadavy began his corrections career in 2021 as a corporal at the Reception and Treatment Center. Prior to joining NDCS, he spent nearly three years with the Lay Mission-Helpers in Uganda, supporting local businesses. Read more about his time in Uganda here: https://mkadavyinuganda.blogspot.com/
