December 5, 2017 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Steven Redmond (65), #53164, died today at 10:54 a.m. at Bryan Hospital in Lincoln. He had been assigned to the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution. His sentence began on November 23, 1999. He was serving a 44 – 66 years for second degree murder and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony (Kimball County).

Cause of death has not been determined; Redmond was being treated for a long-term medical condition. As is the case whenever an inmate dies in the custody of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services, a grand jury will conduct an investigation.
