September 13, 2017 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Today, Director Scott R. Frakes invites Nebraskans to explore the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) newly-redesigned website at http://corrections.nebraska.gov/. The public can now access the information they are most interested in with intuitive navigation and better functionality, which is in line with Governor Ricketts’ vision of being more effective, more efficient and customer focused.
“The focus during the redesign was to make the experience more relevant and efficient for our stakeholders,” Director Frakes said. “This new website improves the agency’s transparency as it provides streamlined menus, simple navigation and access to the information people need.”
The new website was developed to be a better platform to share news and updated statistics with the public. News releases, social media posts and public notices are prominently featured in a news feed on the homepage.
UNANIMOUS, the local marketing agency that NDCS partnered with to create the site, did a thorough job of understanding NDCS' website analytics to prioritize the content visitors are most interested in. The majority of people who visit the NDCS website look for facility information and visiting hours on their smartphones. The new website includes that information front and center on the home page and developed with a responsive theme so content displays accurately on a desktop, tablet or smartphone.
