October 6, 2022 (Lincoln, Neb.) – An inmate who went missing from the Community Corrections Center – Omaha (CCC-O) is in custody at the Douglas County Department of Corrections. The Douglas County Sheriff’s office arrested Matthew Hurich #80082 on Wednesday, September 28.
Hurich disappeared on September 22, when he left the facility with Clifford Brown #88039. Brown turned himself into the Omaha Police Department on September 26.
Hurich started his sentence on April 28, 2014. He was sentenced to 11 years and eight months to 30 years on charges out of Lancaster County that include robbery and terroristic threats. Hurich has a parole eligibility date of April 10, 2024 and a tentative release date of June 9, 2033.
CCC-O is one of two community custody facilities operated by NDCS. Community custody is the lowest custody level and the least restrictive facility. Inmates are allowed to participate in work opportunities, attend school and religious services with prior approval and without direct supervision.
