May 27, 2024 (Omaha, Neb.) – Douglas Dowding #59207, age 59, died May 26, 2024, at a hospital in Omaha. He was incarcerated at the Community Corrections Center – Omaha (CCC-O).
Dowding’s sentence began on September 19, 2003. He was serving a 43 to 50 year sentence for kidnapping and attempted first degree sexual assault out of Douglas County and theft and possession of a controlled substance out of Sarpy County.
While the cause of death has not yet been determined, Dowding was being treated for a medical condition. As is the case whenever an inmate dies in the custody of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS), a grand jury will conduct an investigation.
