October 1, 2017 (Lincoln, Neb.) – The Nebraska State Penitentiary (NSP) is currently in modified operations. All visits are cancelled for Sunday.

Over the last 24 hours, there have been at least 15 inmates suspected of using K2 (synthetic cannabinoid). Investigators will be brought in to determine sources and other relevant information.

Due to the active investigation, this is all the information available.

Modified operations:  Actions taken to more closely control movement of inmates within a facility due to safety and security needs.  May include confinement in cells of a portion of the inmate population, cancellation of program/work activities, and direct escort of certain inmates as necessary.
