NDCS staff member positive for COVID-19

August 31, 2020 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Today, Director Scott R. Frakes announced that a staff member with the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) is positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19). The staff member is employed at the Diagnostic and Evaluation Center (DEC). The individual is self-isolating at home.

Staff member assaulted at LCC

August 31, 2020 (Lincoln, Neb.) – An inmate at the Lincoln Correctional Center (LCC) assaulted a staff member on Sunday, August 30, 2020, resulting in a serious* injury.

The inmate refused multiple directives to be placed in restraints so he could be moved to another area of the facility. He became physically aggressive and punched the same staff member twice in the head. With the second punch, it caused the staff...Read more

August 30, 2020 (Lincoln, Neb.) – All housing units at the Nebraska State Penitentiary (NSP) are under quarantine, in order to ensure the health and well-being of those who live and work inside the facility.
